Volunteers

Would you like to make a difference for someone who has been a victim of crime? CVRCC is always in need of compassionate, caring individuals who have a heart to help victims of sexual assault. Volunteers make such a difference in the lives of sexual assault victims and families. With your help, we can continue to provide services to victims of sexual violence and their families/friends which bring comfort in times of crisis.

Volunteer Policies and Procedures

Volunteer Advocates
Volunteer Advocates help answer the 24-hour hotline and provide hospital accompaniment. Interested applicants must be at least 18, fill out an application, attend an interview and pass a criminal background check. Once approved, applicants must attend a 40-hour certified training program. Volunteer Advocates will also be qualified to provide law enforcement and court accompaniment as well.

Education and Prevention Programs
Once familiar with the center and its services, volunteers can observe at least one program and then help facilitate educational programs.

Individual and Group Counseling
ASU graduate students who need practicum hours may be considered as individual counseling and group counseling session leaders.

Office and Daytime Hours
Daytime help is sometimes needed in the office Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Staff sometimes needs assistance with general office duties such as filing, copying, answering telephones and assisting visitors. Orientation and a short training is required.

Special Events
Volunteers help so much with fundraisers and other special events. Keep updated by checking the website for upcoming events and fundraisers and let us know if you have any special talents. Volunteers can also represent CVRCC at health fairs and various related events by distributing materials and answering questions about our services. Orientation is required. Participation as a Special Event Volunteer is on an as-needed basis.

CVRCC Care Committee
Care Committee Volunteers are responsible for providing breakfast, lunch or snacks (depending upon time of day) for meetings with local agencies that work with CVRCC. Care Committee Volunteers are responsible for purchasing and delivering meals for meetings, such as SART, quarterly volunteer meetings and other meetings as they are scheduled. Orientation is required. Care Committee Volunteers must be available during the week, usually between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, however some after hours shifts may be available.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities
If there is something you enjoy doing, (for example photography, scrapbooking, painting, drawing, etc.), please consider donating your talents to CVRCC. We appreciate the time and unique skills of all our Volunteers, and we understand that not every person who is interested in volunteering for our agency has the time or ability to commit to weekday or weekend hours.

Furthermore, as CVRCC continues to expand its services to the community and grows to meet the demands of our clients, additional Volunteer Opportunities will become available. We will continue to update our opportunities for Volunteers, so be sure to stay in contact with us.
